Set in an old colonial-style bungalow on Convent Road, Green Thoery offers a happy overload of chlorophyll and is peaceful and serene. Started in 2011 by a young entrepreneur Bikash Parik, Green Theory is Bangalore’s first 100 per cent vegetarian world cuisine restaurant that serves a vast spread of food with vegan and Jain options.
The lush garden cafe has a bubbling water fountain with comfortable couches. The cafe decorated with recycled material, has a lot of funky features such as a spoon wall, tyre seating, a portrait made out of duck tape and a cycle serving as a door.
This cafe also houses ‘The Cupcake Company’ with 80 per cent organic products for people to choose from.
A few of their must-try dishes include the watermelon smoothie, the theory platter and the Irish vegetable box tea. The thin crust whole wheat pizzas are also delicious. They brew their own tea and have 10-15 varieties of flavored teas. The watermelon smoothie is served in a cut watermelon. The Theory Platter is a variety of five different starters. It includes stuffed mushrooms, veggie skewers, bruschettas, baby corn cigars and crispy veggies in Schezwan style. The most famous and unique dish is the Irish vegetable box tea. It is an Irish crepe served with a mushroom-pepper sauce and some mashed potatoes with buttered vegetables.

Started by Krishna Shastry, a techie who quit his corporate job to start this venture, Carrots situated in Koramangala definitely leaves you craving for more.
A multi-cuisine gourmet space which is as unique as the name itself, Carrots doesn’t use any preservatives, food colouring, deep frying techniques and they make their own in-house sauces.
A few dishes you must try over here include The Carrots Healthy Plate with foxtail millet, steamed vegetables, salads and a variety of dips. The whole wheat pizzas are healthy and delicious and are topped with vegan cheeses made of cashew and tofu plus vegetables and flavourful sauces.
